The updated txtr app allows Adobe-DRM protected eBooks to be read on the iPad
The free app was previously available for the iPhone however, as with all iPhone apps, it required ‘stretching’ to fill the iPad screen which could lead to blurred text and an unpleasant reading experience. The new version includes native support for the iPad’s 9.7” screen and delivers crisp, easily read text as well as a night reading mode.
To read existing purchases on their iPad, users need to open a free account with txtr and then upload books from their computer to the service’s website and then download them to the iPad via the txtr app.
Although this process may be too cumbersome for some users to continue buying ePub titles, it does at least allow book lovers to access their existing library of titles without having to re-buy them from one of many eBook apps available for the iPad
