Reports: 'Irex enters bankruptcy'

According to several reports, eBook reader manufacturer Irex Technologies has filed for bankruptcy after new products missed their expected launch dates.

The Dutch firm’s Iliad model was the first eBook reader to be sold in the UK, launching in Borders in 2008.

In recent years a number of brands have entered the market including Sony and COOL-ER. More recently Amazon belatedly entered the international market with their previously US-only Kindle reader and last month say Apple start international sales of the iPad tablet which offers a number of eBook options.
