Kobo's Touch reader
In October the Canadian-based Kobo confirmed WHSmith as its first retail partner while the high street retailer announced plans to move its entire ebook sales & fulfilment service to Kobo.
The supermarket will offer the new Kobo wireless e-reader for just £67 – a £20 saving off the most recent price point.
Asda says the price cut is part of a range of moves on to make reading more affordable and accessible.
The retailer claims Kobo’s e-reader is “rapidly becoming a serious contender to the Amazon Kindle”.
Duncan Tate, technology expert at Asda said: “The Kobo e-reader has received rave reviews and we’re delighted to be able to offer it to customers at this breakthrough price before Christmas.”
Asda is also offering the Touch version of the Kobo for £107.
